Messrs Nolan, Tonks and Co.’s Stock Report. At Hawera, on 23rd inst., we had a good muster of both cattle and sheep. Prices for the former still remain very low, while sheep showed a slight upward tendency. At Opunake, on 28th inst., the quantity advertised came forward, but prices not reaching owners’ reserves several lots were turned out unsold. At Manaia, on 30th inst, bidding was slack, .yet we succeeded in disposing of most lines privately. We quote : Weaners, 13s to 16s; yearling steers, 25s to 80s; 18-mouth to 2-year steers, £2 to £2 2s Gd ; 21- to 3-year steers, £3 to £3 7s 6d; 3-year fresh condition bullocks, £3 18s to £4 2s ; 18-month to 2-year heifers, £2 5s to £2 10s ; fat cows, £4 ; lambs, culls, 2s Gd to 3s ; 2-tooth wethers, 7s lOd to 8s; 2-tooth ewes, in lamb, 8s Id ; store ewes, 8s to 5s Gd ; fat ewes, 6s Gd.
