RAHOTU HALL AND LIBRARY.

(to the editor.) Sir, —l am a new settler in the Rahotu district, and, taking an interest in local matters would like to find out a few particulars re the Rahotu Town Hall and also our Public Library, Not knowing whom to ask here, might I trouble you to do so .through the medium of your paper? Could you or any of your readers tell rae—(l) VVhb are the trustees of the hall, and in whom is the property vested ? (2) When, and by whom were the trustees elected, and of what duration is their tenure of office ? (3) Who is custodian ? How is he or she paid ? And are there any fixed charges for the use of the hall ? I would also apply the whole of the foregoing questions with reference to the Rahotu Public Library. My reasons for asking the above questions are these : A number of residents are desirous of inaugurating some form of amusement for the winter evenings, for which it would be necessary to obtain the free use of the hall for rehearsals. I think with regard to the library, its present location at the school is too much out pLjihe way, in the first place, and in next its existence is unknown eicept to a few. I would suggest its removal to more central premises. Trusting either you or some person competent to answer the above questions will respond,—l am, &c., Ignoramus. Rahotu, April 2, 1895.
