Opunake Racing Club Handicap, of 70 sovs, second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stakes; miles. Nomination, 40s ; acceptance, 20s. To start at 1 p.m. 4. Harakeke Stakes, of 25 sovs, second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes; for three-year-olds; weight for age; 6 furlongs. Entrance, 20s. To start at 2 p.m. [Note. —The district boundaries of this race have been abolished.] 5. Electric Stakes Handicap, of 20 sovs; % mile. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. To start at 2.45 p.m. 6. Opua Stakes Handicap, of 40 sovs, second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; 1 mile. The winner of the Racing Club Handicap to carry a penalty of 5 lbs. Nomination, 20s; acceptance, 10s. To start at 3.89 p.m. 7. Forced Handicap, of 20 sovs; 1 mile. Post entry; winners, 10s; losers, free. Acceptance, 10s. To start at 4.45 p.m.. NOMINATIONS for Nos. 1,2, 8, 6, and 6 must be in the hands of the Hon Secretary on or before 8 p.m'., on SATURDAY, the Ist December, 1894. WEIGHTS will be published on or about the 11th December. ACCEPTANCES and General Entries for No. 4 close on THURSDAY, the 20th December, at 8 p.m. Nominations and Entries must be sealed and addressed to the “ Hon Secretary, Opunake,” with fees enclosed, and name, age, pedigree, and performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. l>elinitiou oi £i Hade. A horse that has never won an advertised race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted), and is not nominated at time of start, and has not during the three months previous' thereto, been nominated for any race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted). The winner of any handicap race after the publication of the weights to carry a penalty of 7 lbs. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs in New Zealand.
