BRIDGES.

We are pleased to be able to State that both the Heimama and Oaonui bridges are now completed and open for traffic since Tuesday. In the course of n few days the bridge at Opua will be completed, when the road wil: be open for traffic without the discomfort and danger of fording. We must award a word of praise to Cr. McGloin for the persistent manner in which he pressed the urgency of these w .rks on the Council until in very shame they had to give in and admit the grave injustice which was being inflicted on this part of the county. Mr McGloin has spared neither trouble, nor time—and time means money— l. attending to his duties as our repress tative, and if other members of local bodies acted likewise, there would be loss discontent amongst the ratepayers.
