HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES. "Wellington, July 23. xi-encxno bill. The new Fencing Bill, wLich is a consolidating' measure, applies to all lands owned by natives, except that which is held by them under customs or usages, and the title to which has not been determined by the Native Land Court. The Government propose in the Financial Statement to borrow a sum of £1,500.000 per annum to be advanced to settlers of the colony on freehold security. It is, proposed to issue 3| per cent stock for amount raised and let it cut at 5 per cent. Mi; Seddon has introduced the Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act Amendment Bill. Up to the present 1917 old soldiers’ claims have scheduled, representing £05,000. A select committee has been appointed to review the Customs tariff to report within a mouth.
