JJir,—l was astomshed to notice in your paper a reply from a gentleman who signed himself with tho magic letters " J.P." attached, informing the public that he had never in his official capacity charged anything for witnessing signatures. "Why the ink that announced him J.P. is not dry. What a contrast there is between the present and the good old days, and the grand old men who sat on the bench only to uphold its dignified position.—l am, & c Old Coin, Opunake, July 12th, 1894.
