CALF CLUB SHOW

The 1947 show of the Opotiki District High School Calf Club was held on Thursday, November 27th. at the primary grounds. Though the number of calves reared in the competition was slightly smaller than previously, the calves showed that much time and care had been spent in their rearing. A very successful new. class was the yearling class, where seven 1946 calves were entered for; further judging. The thanks of the committee go to all those who assist-

The Opotiki District High School Flower Show which was run in conjunction with the Calf - Club Show fast week was worthly of a good deal more patronage from, the parents and public than it received. The display of flowers was excellent, being easily equal to anything seen at the larger shows in this district. The display of sweet peas, roses and other beautiful blooms fully occupied three large class rooms. The quality of the hand-work was also excellent. It was a pity that more parents did not avail themselves of the opportunity of seeing this wonderful play.SECONDARY SECTIONS Cut Flowers Sweet Peas, mixed colour: C. Boynton 1, I. Jeffery 2, K.
