PRICES TOO HIGH
FARMS AND DWELLINGS LAND SALES COMMITTEE In live applications placed before the Gisborne Land Sales Committee at its weekly sitting in Gisborne the agreed prices were found to be considerably in advance of the special Crown valuations, the differences in two instances being so. marked that the applications were withdrawn, by the vendor. In two other instances the com: mitee made reductions with the agreement of the vendors; and in the remaining case the fair price was fixed at a level which represented a. saving of £350 to the purchaser. The two properties in respect of which applications were withdrawn were farm in the Waiocka parish, subject to .agreed prices- of £6380 an.d £3OOO respectively. The special Crown valuations were £4999 and ££255. The vendor of a house in Clifford street consented to a reduction from £6OOO to £550, and a reduction from £IOOO to £875 was agreed to by the vendor of a house in. Herbert road, with 3per.
