BOWLING

TANEATUA PICNIC TOURNAMENT A picnic bowling tournament was held on the Taneatua Bowling Club’s green over the week-end when teams from Rotorua, Whakatane and the two local clubs competed. Half-way through the afternoon a thunderstorm marred the day just when games were at an interesting stage and play had to be. abandoned. Iu the A section A, Hailwood’s (Rotorua) team with 4i wins and in B section P. Smoljan’s team (Whakatane) oi wins drew from the hat and the Rotorua team had the luck of the draw. Mr. T. Gee, president of the Taneatua Club then presented the trophies to the winners.
