RATE-ARREARS SALE COMMITTEE’S APPROVAL The first of its kind dealt with, by the Gisborne Land Sales Committee since its inception in 1944 was an application heard at the weekly sitting hist week from the registrar of the Supreme Court, Auckland, for approval of the transfer of a property by gale idi - the satisfaction of a rating debt. The .property is due of 51 acres at Waimana, and the purchaser was a small-farm owner; in the neighbourhood who -was willing to pay £46 for the land. The committee approved the proposal, which was submitted by the registrar on. the initiative of a local body which earlier had secured a judgment against the owner of the land.
