The Rhodes Scholar colt. Oxford Scholar was recently put in the hands of a- veterinary surgeon. AA’hcu completely over the operation lie is to be broken in and put into light work. He may be given a cou.ple of starts on the race track at- the latter end of the season for eucational purposes prior to his serous racing as a three-year-old. The Foxbridge-Llangollen colt was operated upon for a slight rupture, and he also is to be doctored later on. This colt has recently been handled and ridden.
"FRESH BOY” SIRED BY “REVELATION” OF WAIMANA
The diminutive colt, Fresh Boy, placed second in the Melbourne Cup is, like the winner, Hiraji, New Zealand-bred, and has a close association with this district, having been sired by Revelation, owned by the late F. J. Savage and Sons, AA’aimana, and now on lease to Sir J. Fletcher, of Te Kauwhata. Fresh Boy was bred by Sir Ernest Davis of Auckland, and sold in 1945 at the foot of his dam, Racefox (by Foxbridgc out of Vera Acre). Vera Acre was by Acre out of Miss Vera. Raccfox is a- full sister to Foxwyn, winner of the Auckland Racing Clip worth £5006 (distance 2 miles) also winner of the Queen’s Plate worth £6OO (1 mile) and wa-s second in the Great Northern Derby (Ik miles). Revelation’s progeny include Black Simon, winner in New Zealand and India; Skilled, winner in New Zealand and Australia; Blue Simon, winner in New Zealand and India; Black Simon who has had two firsts and one second place in three-starts as a- 2-year-old this season; This, who won the Auckland Railway Handicap, and many other races and Lord Revell, who ranks third highest stake winner among 3-year-olds last season winning over £3006, Other winners arc Voltaic, Prince Revell, (who ran Sleepy Fox to a head in the Auckland Railway Handicap), Scarfin', Landfirc, Penetrate, Reveller, Scdgmerc, Patmos, Brown Atom, ltcvelene, Second Seal, Top Drawer, Supervision, Lola May, Ivaiinoni.
All but Prince Revel, Top Drawer and Kaimoui were bred by the late F. J. Savage and Sons, and the other three were reared by them.
