OPOTIKI FIGURES ■ Statistics compiled by Mr. E. Stewart at the Opotiki aerodrome show that rain fell on 18 days during October, the total fall being G. 48 inches, the second heaviest monthly total for the year to date. The heaviest fall on one day was on Ist, October. During the month only one ground frost was recorded. There were 20 nights of dew. The highest barometric reading was 1023 millibars on the 24th. and the lowest was 936 on the 13th. The highest maximum screen temperature was. 72.4 degrees on the 23rd. and the lowest was 35.1 on the 29th. The lowest grass temperature was 30.1 on the 29th, The mean temperature for the month was 54 degrees.
