VALEDICTORY The members of the choir of St. John’s Presbyterian Church met at * “Canny I lie” last night to bid farewell to Mr. 11. R (I. Parkinson and Pte B. -Morice. The entertainment took the loim ol a social, the tallies being tastefully decorated with white and blue flowers. After the usual toasts had hceit honoured, Mr. C. Savage, on Itehalt of the settlers presented wallets to the guests of honour. Roth boys suitably replied. Rowland was tendered a fare-well evening last Saturday by the members of the Opotiki Club. Bridge was played for chi- first part of the evening, the winner being Mr. AL Kidd. After supper. Mr. A. R- Stuart, president of the dub, in a eulogistic speech presented Mir. Rowland with a gold-mounted pen and pencil. Mi. Rowland suitably replied.
