MEETING AT WAIMANA (News Correspondent) The December meeting cf tile Wai-mann-Nukninni Women’s institute was held in the Wainmna Hall last Wednesday. Mrs. Marrii presided over a vet y good attendance of members;. Airs. K. J. Ha vagi* most capably acted as secretary in the' absence of Airs. Wyldo jnr. The meeting'opened with the singing of the Institute song. The minute,., of the previous meeting wore lead and cenlirmed. Business arising Imm incoming ioi rospundenco was dealt with. An appeal was made to inembcrs for hooks and maga/uno s to he forwarded to the sO'l'dieis in camp. .Members also brought hocks and mugasdnes to be scut to the hospital. Wooliield gave a most full report c.n the recent Council meeting held in Wellington’; also an interesting tali; on the Exhibition at Wellington. Airs. Wool ield said that I lie Worn* n’s (Amiri was outstanding and well worth seeing. .Members of the Drama Circle presented a p!n t > entitled “Ladies in Waiting,” which was appreciated. Tim (Bee Club members entertained by singing Christmas carols, Mrs. King playing the accompaniments. Airs. Wooliield spoke en the meeting held' in Whakatane recently in connect ion with Rod Cross work. The month’s competitions were as follows: Best Hlower: Alt's. I. Savage ], Mrs. Mitchell 2, Aliss: M. Christmas novelty costing not more than 1/(5 : Mrs. 1. Savage (doll) 1, Airs. Burnett (foot stool) 1, Airs. Gallagher 3. 'Pile delegates to attend the Itcd (Voss meetings were appointed, Mrs. Alarm and Airs. Burnett. The hostesses served a dainty ten, and a hearty vote ol tjianlcs was passed to them and the judges.
