I.—'George Walter Cooper, ot Elder-street, Brighton, 26-year-old army private who posed as a lieutenant-colonel, was sent to gaol for six months at Hove Police Court lor incurring a debt by false pretences. He rang up a garage in the name of “Lieutenant-Colonel North’’ and hired a car, pretending he was the officer’s batman when he called for it. He drove to Aldershot, where lie ran out of petrol and obtained some more from a barracks by saying he was on important business.
