WAIOTAHI CARDEN CIRCLE The October meeting of the Waiofcnhi Garden Circle was held at Mrs. V . R. Payne’s home, Opotiki. Business was discussed and a flower competition was won by Mrs. W. R- Payne. The meeting was held in the morning so that members could visit the Woodlands Flower Show, and lunch • was served by Mosdames W. L. Looney and Payne. After lunch the vegetable and flower garden was inspected. There were good entries for the competitions which resitltedl as follows: Bowl of flowers for effect: Airs. \\ . L. Looney. Best Bloom. Mrs. Hill (calendula). Best Lettuce; Mrs. L. A'. Looney. 'The November meeting was held at Mrs. J. AL Scott’s residence. Owing to the absence of the presidents, the annual meeting was postponed till December, and Airs. A- Snell presided. A competition was won by Airs. Scott, and a stall was bold for friends. The beautiful roses, shrubs and flowers were much admired, also the flourishing vegetable garden. Competitions resulted as follows; Bowl of Mixed Flowers: Airs. Snell <45 varieties). Best Cabbage: Airs. AV. L. Looney.
