'Mr, E. S. W. ‘Upton, who recently sat for Section .13. of the pharmacy examination in Wellington, has received advice that ho has been successful. ... **■*#•*** Mr. H. 'Rowland, who lias boon manager of the Opotiki branch of the Hank of New Zealand for many years, is retiring, at tho end of the present year. News of tho impending -departure of Mr, Howland and family from Opotiki will be received with regret, as Mr. Rowland has- taken a very keen interest in, and rendered much valuable service, in various activities iu the district. Mr. (}. 11. Hammond, who has been accountant at the Bank of New Zealand for several years, has received notice of his transfer to, the Opotiki branch as manager.
