FRENCH PATROLS DEiluP IN NAZI ZONE LONDON, Nov. 29. A night communique issued in states that the day was quiet on the Western Froiit-. There was some local artillery action. A French scouting patrol, from the Pitch© plateau area, advanced between one and two miles into Germany before encountering"’ enemy outposts. It is reported tliat' the patrol brought back highl.V-vnluablc information. According to the official Berlin news agency French enemy artillery irregularly- bombarded a- bill south-west of Sclmeoberg and also the -da.stle Aleinslicrg district. “The German artillery never a-t a loss for an answer, states the agency. “The French, for the first time during the war. tried to disturb the Palatinate forest entrenchments.”
