OMARUMUTU SCHOOL CONCERT
HI'JHhY SUCCESSFUL CONCERT Oil Thursday evening Just tlic* pupils of the Omarumutii Native School presented a highly successful concert in the local hall. A large audience of over dot) people wore entertained with a vTtried programme of .Maori and European items. Paper streamej's in the school colours provided a ta,sU-lnl decoration* to the hall while the stage was artistically arranged to re-present the front of a -Maori moetin<>- house. The various items iii the programme which provided noujly three Jmur.s of entertainment were well received by an appreciative audience. The ’committee and staff were pleased t ( > have Mr. Maui l)elamore as their guest for a. short period during the course of the evening. Mr. Delamere, who has, volunteered for service with the Maori Battalion and who is t<j leave for camp shortly, was welcomed) by Mr. Baker and Mr. \V. liatanui. In reply lie expressed Ids pleasure at having the opportunity ot meeting so many old friends l.icioro his departure. After the concert a programme of dancing ended one of the most successful functions ever held in Omaruniutu.
