Sharp Ris& in Temperature. There has been a sharp rise in temperature during the, last lew days and at. Waiknnac, Gisborne, on Friday, a. shade temperature of 82 degrees was reached. The previous highest figure this summer was 71 degrees on October 2.0. Gisborne temperatures last week were as follows: Monday 54 degrees, Tuesday 59, Wednesday G 7, Thursday 74 and Friday 82 degrees. C' " 1 Woman Blown Over. A boisterous north-westerly wind was experienced in Wellington on Friday last, and on several occasions gusts exceeding 00 miles an hour were recorded at Kelburii Observatory. One accident, attributed to the wind, occurred in Hataitai. While walking along Hamilton road, Mrs. F. J; Thorne, 5 Rcwn road, was blown over by a strong gust and received abrasions to her right elbow a mil an injury to her right knee.
