WEDDING
LITTLE—PARKINSON •St. Mary’s Church, Opotiki, was the scene of u quiet but picturesque wedding jib 11 a.ju. on Thursday, 9th. inst., when Ola, younger daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. James Parkinson, Waioeka, Gpotiki, wa.s united in the holy hands of matrimony to Clifford Little, of Pneroa, only son of Mr. and M.rs. C. Little, of Mt. Eden, Auckland. Per. Father Brady officiated andi Mr. S. McDougall presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, presented a charming figure in her dainty georgette frock of assure blue. Particularly effective was tho becoming tucking cleverly featured to accentuate the lines of the figure and to give a graceful fullness. The bodice front was diagonally tucked and was gathered slightly to the waistyoke. A narrow belt of self material finished with a tiny bow, outlined tho waist line while another followed) tho lines of the waist yoke to finish at the simple V neck-line. A becoming softness was added by the elbow-length sleeves, the tucks of which fell loosely from the siipuldor. The skirt was moulded by the tucking to the hips whence it fell in graceful stitched pleats to below the knees. A model bat of navy blue straw was worn at a becoming angle, the crown moulding the back of the head while the laceodged tip-tilted brim was mounted by a dainty of blue tied with stiffened! net. Shoes and gloves of navy blue completed the ensemble and a beautiful bouquet of bronze rosebuds, lightening to gold, was' tied with gold ribbon-. . .. .
JV*i s.s' Joyce Little, of Gisborne, .siiiter of the bridegroom, attended ns bridesmaid. She wore a dainty frock of creoe sued.©' in, clover .shadings which was an effective contrast to the colourings favoured by the bride. A daintily shirred bodice in pale clover had short sleeves finished with an inverted pleat, while,the swing skirt was in a deeper toning of clover. Tlio trimmings of pale blue were accentuated in the belt which also included the two tones of clover. A coquettish imticl hat of clover was trimmed with flowers in the three tonings of the frock. Navy blue .shoes and gloves were worn and the lovely bouquet was
iii mu telling shades of stock. Mr. Damian Parkinson, the bride’s brother, attended as best man. Following the ceremony, immediate friends and relatives of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at a reception at the B.oyal Hotel. The guests were received by Mrs. James Parkinson. the bride’s mother, who was attractively flocked in a model of navyblue sheer, with the neck-line relieved with ivory. The sleeve.s were heavily, embroidered in ivory. A smart flowertrimmed model hat of navy-blue was
worn and navy blue accessories were favoured. -She carried a. charming bouquet of colourful sweet peas. Mrs. 0. Little, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a smart navy-blue tailored worstedl suit, white georgette blouse, navy blue model flower-trim-med hat, and furs. Her bouquet was of verbena and violas. The tables were beautifully'decorated. place of honour being given to the handsome wedding cake, the floral decorations of which wore those which had adorned the wedding cake of the bride’s mother. The guests later adjourned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Parkinson to view the many costly presents which included several cheques. The happy couple, whose future home will he in Pa cron, were fa rowel led after a delicious afternoon' tea had heen enjoyed. Mrs. Little travelled in a Viennese mod lei frock of frog green with smartly tailored coat also in froggreen. A fine .straw model cart-wheel hat with matching given hand, navyblue.suede shoes and gloves wore worn. The happy couple travelled hy private car to Oliopo and*later to Mount Maunganui where the honey-moon will l;0‘ spent.
