WEDDING
ANDERSON—CUNNINGHAM A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Stephen’s the Martyr Anglican Church, Opotiki, on November 1, when Jocelyn Lucy Haynes, only daughter' of Mr. and Mis. F.'H. Cunningham, Waingarara, was married to Harry Lewis, only s.o>n of Air. and Mrs. A. Anderson, Opotiki. The cere-/ mony was performed by the Hev. 0. GG. Salt. Miss Sydenham presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church oil the arm of her father, looked charming in a gown of palest cream bridal satin, cut oil slimming lines. A cowl neckline caught with a. spray of orafigo bldssoms in. the front, and buttoned down the hac k to end in a point, over the skirt formed the bodice The long fitting sleeves ended,,in a point over the hand. The plain cut skirt which fell into a. graceful oval train was caught with a large hustle at the back with a trail of palest cream roses. Her headdress was composed of pale cream roses mounted on a tulle veil worn over the face and falling gracefully dawn the back to form a second train. She carried a bouquet of roses, stock and lily of the valley.
The bride was atended by Airs. K. Davies as matron of honour. She wore a cleverly designed; suit of palest cream taffetas. The coat was fitting, with short sleeves and the skirt, which fell into an aval train, was fastened at the sides and back with blue ribbon and flowers. Her half hat was pleated tulle covered with blue flowers and tied with tulle streamers at the hack. Her shoes were a matching blue and she carried a posy ot blue flowers outlined with pleated tulle. The bridegroom was attendedi hy Mr. Errol Cunningham, brother of the bride as best man.
The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a smart black and white suede silk suit with accessories to match and carried a posy of pink and apricot shaded roses. The bridegroom’s mother chose a i;avy blue embossed ensemble and accessories totone and carried] a clover shaded posy of geraniums.
Afterwards a reception was held at Die Wattle tea-rooms, where the customary toasts were honoured. Among those present were: Air. and Airs. Newton, Mr. and Mrs. L. Abbot-. Air. and Airs. Day, Air. and Airs. Foster, Air. and Mrs. Leishman. Air. and Airs. Clements, Air. and Airs. L. Harrell. Mr. and Airs. O. Hobinsoiii. Air. and Airs. C. White. Air. and Airs. T. Burke, Air. and Airs. D. Gordon, Air. and] Airs. AT. Newton, Rev. Salt. Alosdames. Sargent. Spit-tall, O’Brien, Bryson (Gisborne). Alisses H. Sargent, K. Kalf, E. AfeNee. B. Barrel I, Al. Leishman. AL White. I'-- Clements. Ales.srs. W. White; A. Abbot. L. Parkinson, G. O’Brien, B. Booth. The happy couple left- later lor an extended lnotoir tour of the North Island. Airs. Anderson’s travelled in a .cherrv coloured suit with navy-blue accessories.
