Intense aerial activity occurred over the Firth of Forth area following a report, that enemy- raiders had approached the Scottish coast. An engagement between British fighters and German raiders is believed l to have occurred a few miles o'ut to sea from the Firth. Imjnediately the preliminary warning was given the fighters took off in the direction of the sea. No sirens were sounded and no sounds of guuliie was heard. Alinor German troop movements are occurring north of Saaroguimiues, east of which the 'German artillery was active. A French official morning communique states that the- tlight was quiet. There was some artillery and infantry fire. During yesterday a German twinengined recoil naisa nee plane was brought down in French territory by a British fighter. A further report from Bans states that the air activity in October when 10 German planes were brought, down was less than in September, when the total was 28.
