INSTITUTE A 1 FETING (N ews Correspondent.) The -November meeting of the Wai-maua-Nukuhou Women’s Institute was held in the Waimana Hall last Wednesday afternoon. There was a very full attendance „i members, Airs. Maria presiding and the singing of the institute song comi!«euced the afternoon’s proceeding'. The minutes were read and l continued. The president welcomed Mrs. X. Clark, who has returned from the W.l. trip to the British Isles and Du rope. .Mrs. Davies gave a most interesting ami full report of the Bi-Annual Council meeting. held at W aiotahi last mouth.

The members are asked to bring magazines and books to the Deccmbci meeting and they will be forwarded to the hospitals. Mrs. Clark eonve.ved a message to the Institute from the \Y .11.1. Dundee anti Rugby W.L., that they would like to he links with New Zealand AVl's. It was decided to form links with the Overseas AY.Fs. Mrs. W. McConnell jni-. and Miss AYoolficld were appointed correspondents. A most interesting travel talk was given by Mrs. N. Clark, on 'Germany. The roll call for the month was, “A good book l have read and the author.” It was decided to hold tile annual show as usual and the show committee was appointed. The date of the show will be announced later. Tim .day being ‘•lnternational Day”, patriotic songs and choruses ueje sung by members of the Glee Club. The day's competitions resulted as follows: Frock costing not more than 6/- and made and worn by the member: Miss M. Woolfield 1. Mrs. Burnett 2, and Miss Burnett 10 entries. Best. Lettuce: Mrs. Hewitt 1, Mrs. Blac k2. Miss M. Hughes :b 10 entries. The display of members’ best flowers was absolutely wonderful and greatly admired) by all —Mrs. Hagle .iris) 1, Alis. Fleming 2. Mrs. K.Bcll •>. -0 entries. Best Flowering Shrub: Mrs. Mitchell I azalea) l. Mrs. Stevenson (lilac) 2. Miss M. Woolfield 0. 8 entries. Tim hostesses were: M ostia mes I' • Bell. C. Bell. H. Bell.
