Mr. F. Parkinson if* > paying a brief visit to Opotiki after an extensive tour of Australia, and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hudson, Beach road. * ****** Mi's. N. Quirk and Miss Wilson have just returned trom Auckland where they spent a most interesting holiday together. Both visited the Papakura camp on Alonday, where they were taken through the camp hy Gunner Les. Kelly and Ken., do Montalk, both formerly- of Opotiki. The volunteers were all oil' duty lor the day and sports and athletic games were indulged in during the afternoon. The visitors were ve'rjc -impressed by the whole of the grounds, lee cream and soft drinks were available. 'I bo camp sitting room was large and bad a good radio set installed', besides an excellent- piano which Mrs. Quirk played. Mrs. Quirk thought the boys all looked well and happy.

WOODLANDS SOCIAL There was a lair attendance at the fortnightly social held in the TV oodlands Hall. Music was supplied by Mr. Manivix with extras bv Airs. Mannix. Monte Carlos were won by Miss J. After a dainty supper was served. Aliss Cunningham and All’. Anderson were called upon to receive the many useful gifts, after which Air.
