WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

MEETINC AT WOUDLANDS The Woodlands Women’s Institute hold', their monthly meeting on Tuesday last. Mis. Noble presiding. The meeting opened with the National Anthem and institute song, followed by the reading of the Creed. it was decided to donate to the Red Cross funds, the proceeds from the Howei show tu he belli on Thursday next. The roll call, “The Silliest Thing 1 Ever Did”, revealed some amusing mistakes made by members. Ibe gulden thread contributed by -Mrs. Barbour was the “History and Origin of the- Flags of Various Nations." and proved very interesting. Mrs. Hoi lard gave a demonstration on quilting, showing a pretty cushion in the course oi making. There were good entries in the competitions, Mrs. .Price and Aliss I pton being equal for first place for the posy, and Mrs. MeOaldon was first for the hot water bag cover, .suitable for hospital use. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Dcdgsou a mil -Miss l pton.
