CAtTLE fair at whakatane Messrs. Dalgety* and Co. Ltd. report Jmvinjr iieJd their supplementary. Spring cattle fair at tlie Whakataue saleyards on Monday last, when a heavy yarding ' of run cattle came"forward. The bidding was .spirited, especially for grown cattle, which sold at well up to late rates. Younger cattle were not in such very keen dlennmd but prices obtained were very satisfactory as most of the young cattle were rather low in condition. .Buyers came from as far afield as Auckland and the bulk of the offering was disposed of to outside buyers. A feature of the yarding was a line of 1.03 4-ycar-old steers which . were purchased by .Messrs. Urquhart and Yates of lvaraka.
