W.D.F.U.
MONTHLY MEETING Tho monthly meeting of the W.D.F. U. was held in the Parish Hall, when Mrs. .Martin presided over a. large attendance. The meeting opened! with the reading of the creed, followed by the reading of the minutes, which were confirmed.. 1 Correspondence was dealt with including a- letter of thanks from the Blind .Institute,•for the donation that had been given by the Women’s Division. Another letter of appreciation was also to hand, from the Disabled Soldiers’ Association thanking the ladies for their nidi in selling for the association articles which tho soldiers had sent. It was decided to carry on with the dance that, had been previously arranged to ho held on Labour Night in the Lyric Hall. Mrs. C. Hdllard kindly gave a demonstration on quilting. A citshon that the demonstrator had completed was display for inspection l»v the members.
The 801 l Coll, “Funny Stories”, answered during afternoon tea, proved lo be very humorous.
Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. S. Shalloon and Mrs. 15. Hendcr-
A vote of thanks passed to the chair and the hostesses, brought a inost enjoyable afternoon to a. close. Competitions for the afternoon were as follows:
