MAY BE ABANDONED AI aghin.es commandeered SKELETON SERVICE AT BEST The news from Wellington that the* 'Government/ is taking Over all aircraft owned by the two big airways companies in the Dominion for the training, of the Royal New Zealand Air Forcepersonnel suggests that the service between Auckland and Gisborne may be abandoned temporarily. No definiteinformation has been received yet as to Union Airways’ intentions hut in view of tITc fact that only three Lockheed machines will he available for all thiscompany's services. only a skeleton service at the best may be expected. At present one of the .three Lockheed s= is under repair. The air service has already proved a great <■ boon to the district and residents will regret very much the curtailment or abandonmentof the service until more favourable 1 times.
