Foxton Gasworks.
The finale to, the closing down of the Foxton municipal gasworks lias taken place. The works were put under the hammer last, week and a clearance effected. Reporting to the monthly meeting of the llorongh Council, the clerk, .Mr. W. Trueman, said that everything was sold, including the two gasometers, which went to a Wellington engineering Arm. More than £4OO was received from the - sale. The finance committee had budgeted for £2OO, so the sale was entirely satisfactory. >The council has*y boon notified by two ox-consumers they propose proceeding against it for damages arising from the closing of the works.
