WEDDING
SHIRLEY—PARKINSON Oir Saturday, September 16th the Anglican Church, Whakatane, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Stephanie Cora, third daughter of Mrs. and the late Air. A. Parkinson .of Whakatane, was married to Alfred! William (“Bill”) only son of .Mr. and Mrs. W. Shirley, Lincoln Road, Carterton. The Rev. S. G. Oaulton officiated and Airs. A. Bridger played the wedding music. The bride, who entered the. church on the anVi of her brother-in-law, Air. R. Aleads, chose a charming gown of ivory French ottonian * crepe cut on simple lines with full length sleeves finished with a point over the hand. The skirt which was fitting, fell to form a circular train caught on either side with a sprig of orange blossom. Small buttons ornamented the bodice andl a. medici. collar with a pearl necklace finished the neckline. Her long tulle veil which was worn over the face was held in place by a. coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of whito camelias, hyacinths and lily of the valley. 'The dainty attendants, Aliss Ella Parkinson, sister of the bride, and Aliss Catherine Anderson (Opotiki), cousin of the bride, were frocked alike in jewel blue self-striped marquisette with head-dresses ol pink and blue flowers worn with blue circular veils. They carried bouquets in tunings of'pink and! blue. 1 lie bridegroom was attended by Air. A. St effort as best mail and Air. M Bullet as groomsman. At the reception held in the Contra! Dining Rooms, the guests were received by Airs. Parkinson, ‘mother of the bride., who wore a frock of blue deque relieved with pink, with bat to tone and carried, .a posy of pink sweet peas, lreezias and blue hyacinths and Alas. A!ends, sister of the bride, who were, a grey tailored costume wd.li navv accessories. Ax'rs. f-liirley. mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue ensemble and carried a posy of daphne, hyacinths and stock.’ , The guests later adjourned to the home of the bride's .mother to view the many beautiful gifts.
