Dairy Association Meeting. The annual general meeting of the Opotiki Dairy Association. Ltd., will he held in the Regent Hall to-morrow, commencing at 10.30 a.m. Shipping. The m.v. "W’aiotahi arrived at Opotik.i at about midday yesterday and left to-day again for Auckland on the incoming tick'. The m.A'. Otimai arrived' at .the Opotiki wharf to-day at 1 p.-m. and; will leave lor Auckland tomorrow. i Opotiki Men for Camp. Lieut. J. G. Alatkay and Messrs. E. Wilson. R, Lambic, A. I). .Dehreceny. H. B. Aloriee and J. AY. Bankov will leave Opotiki on Wednesday next, for camp at Ngaruawahia, where they will attend a refresher course for officers and N.o.o’s, prior to the'main camps. The .medical hoard will again sit at the drill, hall, Opotiki, to-mor-row (Saturday) at 12.30 p.m. Point-tO'-Point. The Opotiki Hunt Club’s pcint-to-point steeplechase and hunters’ trials, which will he held on Messrs. Reid Bros.’ property. Tablelands, is expected to attract a good attendance tomorrow. A very attractive programme -of events has been arranged, the first event ccminferuing at 10.30 a.m. Refreshments and hot water will hr' obtainable on the grounds. Public Works Houses. Cloud progress has been made in the construction pf the three houses at tlie Public Works depot at tiro Junction. Opotiki. and it is expected that the dwellings will he ready lor occupation by members of the staff at an early date. The houses, although not large, are very substantially-built and a good-sized' plot of land has heen fenced off for each dwelling. Bcxkig Championships. At the recent New Zealand amateur boxing championships, D. Mocne' defeated Little in one of the finals. Little at once stage had Mooney down for a long count, in view of the performance "of Little it is interesting to recall that Little met G. Lysaght at the last Opotiki boxing tourney and; was defeated by the Opotiki hoy, after a great exhibition. Little recently won his class at the Auckland championships. In defeating a boxer of Little’s calibre. Lysaght has shown that lie is in the top flight ol New Zealand amateurs. Monster Grader Visits Opotiki. A huge grader,, which is on order to the Waikohu County Council, arrived at Opotiki last night and was “parked” for the night at the roadside in St. John Street. -The machine left for Te Karaka at 6.30 o’clock this morning, and being capable of a good turn of speed 1 , should arrive at the county headquarters to-day. 1 lie grader is especially equipped for the removal of slips, and has a huge hull-dozer-type of blade fixed at the front of the machine. Behind this blade are the pointed-steel road rooters, and behind this is the usual grader knife. The machine is fitted with, eight large pneumatic-tyred! wheels, the drive being carried to both front and rear-axels. r l lie machine is expected to effect a big saving on read-maintenance and slip removal.
