Le Pine, showed a credit balance of over £4. This together with the president’s report was adopted. Election of Officers • Patron, Mr. A. S. de Montalk. President, Mr. W. H. Pilkington. Connor, F.' J. Short. Official Scorer, -Mrs. W. Pilkington. General. * It was resolved that an endeavoui be made to form four teams. Sunday was decided upon as the day for club play. The opening date was fixed as loth October, when a Town v. Country match will be played!. The opening date for the competit-
ion was fixed as 22nd. October. Satisfaction was expressed at the arrangement reached concerning the ground fees. The Association decided to forward a challenge immediately for the Attrill Cup. '■ ' It was decided to notify other clubs throughout the Hay that the Nation Cup is open for challenge by various champion clubs. ' A vote of thanks was passed to 31r.Le Pino for his work during the year. PresiitDm't’s Report. The president’s report was presented as follows: Last March saw the close of a very successful season of cricket matches played in and out of Opotiki. The club games wore of a good standard and some very close and exciting games -were played. Four teams, City, Old Collegians, Otara and Woodlands competed in the competition which was won by. Old) Collegians 38 points, and City Otara and Woodlands each scored 28 points. Three representative matches wero played, the first at ' Opotiki when Whakatane was victorious, the second Opotiki B at Whakatane, Opotiki also losing this match, and the third, our challenge for the Attrill Cup played at Tauranga, which we lost after a' very even game.
R. Smith and 31, Le Pine represented the Bay of Plenty against Waikato, and Smith, L© Pine and R.. Lendruin gained places in the Bay of Plenty side which played Sir J. Kahn’s team at
RotoruaE. Wells was picked l in both teams, but found himself unable to take his place in the Bay teaiii. . To
these players T extend my congratulations, and 1 must, say they fully justified-their inclusion. ’ ,
I -ivoujd like to thank Messrs. Well.s, Connor, and Smith for using their cars to convey the team to Tauranga, and Messrs." Wrigley, J. O’Sullivan, and McLaughlin for conveying the 13 toalff to WJiakatane. _
My congratulations are due too., to the members of. the various clubs who gained representative honours during the season. Also I would like to thank -'the secretary, the committee and players in general, for their co-operation during the past season and i wish the; association the best of luck during the forthcoming season. 2 ?
