FINAL MEET OF SEASON HAKES VERY PLENTIFUL Glorious sunshine favoured the followers ol; the Opotiki Hunt did) on Saturday, when they met at Tablelands fiTi the final hunt of the season. Hares were .plentiful and several exciting runs were enjoyed be!ore the stents were lost. Entering Mr. Walker’s pioperty the pack worked, through to Morrison’s, where a lively hare Jed them into Young’s, over the roadi-to Roid Bros.’, then back into Walkers, over to Young’s and was finally lost in Morrison \s swamp. Returning to- -Mr. Walker’s, another hare took the following into Beicl Bros.’ and over into J. 30. Young’s, where 1 the bounds were called off. Shortly afterwards Urn pack was in full cry and following the swamp a short distance swung off towards Beid Bros.’ homestead. In a deep gully below tin 1 road, tin 1 kill was made. Later several short runs were had, betore returning to Beid Bros.’ lor afternoon tea. Mr. .C. "Clarke, master. apologised l for the unavoidable absence of Air. Beid. and in a few well-chosen words thanked the landholders for the use of their properties; the ladies for supplying afternoon teas, and special thanks to Mrs. F. Beid for entertaining tiie club when it lias held! unofficial meets at Tablelands. He also wished to thank the ladies of W’oodlands, Paerata. a lull Kukumoa, who had entertained them during the season. Hearty cheers were then given for the landowneis. ladies, and Mrs. Beid.
