FLOWER SHOW
t v ■ ■■■■. ST. STEPHEN’S SPRING FUNCTION A BEAUTIFUL- ARRAY The annual spring floWer show, field by St- Stephen’s Church, took place in the Parish Hall on Thursday last, and was again'very successful. Owing to bad weather- and the benzine restrictions, the exhibits wore not quite as- . numerous as usual, but wer<s, considered by all to be quite up to the usual high standard. The exception was in the children’s sections, where greatenthusiasm was shown and many entries taken. Special mention must be made of the woodwork articles, which were exceptionally good and most original. Special prizes were won in this class by B. Peugram for best .model aeroplane, and Pat Braae for model boat; and a substantial barrow made by Basil Bennett was highly commended. ■ The daffodils made a very beautiful display, the champion bloom being won by Mrs. \V. Sydenham. Waisliana- ladies helped considerably with the inkcs. There were many wellstocked stalls in "charge of willing, workers, who sorvedi morning and afternoon tea. The children’s centre <>i interest was tile over-popular bran tub. The organisers and all who so willingly nssited must have felt amply rewarded by tlu l outstanding success ol Die. function.
