The Dennis Hickey Memorial Cup will be at stake, this being the first year of tompetion for this trophy. The Opotiki Rugby l nie-n is donating badges to the members of the teams winning their respective grades. This should produce a good game in concluding the season’s fixtures. (inclusive), Saturday afternoon will be observed as the statutory half-holiday, and that the late night will be observed ni Friday evening. Commencing from Wednesday next shops will remain open all day on Wednesdays. For a long period, Thursday has been a very 'important shopping day in Opotiki, and shopkeepers are confident that from now on this day will be the “big” .shopping day in Opotiki. Most of those who did not sign a request for a change are willing to fall into line with the majority and only one or two shop-keep-ers appear to be directly opposed to ;in v change in the half-holiday.
