SOCIAL AND DANCE 1 - 1 • (News Correspondent) The husbands’ and! friends’ animal evening was held in the YYaimana Hall recently by. the Waimana-Nukn-liou Women’s Institute. The function took the form of a social and dance. The music was played by-Mr. and Mrs. King, while Miss M. Wardlaw, Miss J.'McConnell kindly obliged with extras. Air. Ti Wardlaw carried cut the duties of AI.C. mpst capably. , A sketch entitled “Much Ado About Nothing” was quite humorous and well acted by Airs. Alitchell and Airs, John Addison; anxl a play “Engaging a Maid” was greatly enjoyed by all, also being humorous, and was presented by members of the Drama Circle. A clever exhibition, of the Irish Jig, and a Waltz Tap was given, by. Miss N; Alitchell, Aliss J. Hodgson and Miss A. WhiteThe Grandma members of the Institute rendered vocal choruses most sweetly, and were wearing long trucks, shawls and bonnets, and later appeared in modern dress singing the “Lambeth Walk,” led by Airs. F. Savage. This item was greatly enjoyed. The members of the Gleg Club presented “Ten Pretty 'Srii-is”, in costume and an encore was called for. A dainty supper was served by the members of , the Institute and at the conclusion of the evening, Air. E. P. Woo I fie Id, on behalf of those present, tlmnkedl the Institute for the pleasant evening and said that it had been enjoyed by all.
