“BOYS” -TOWN” CREATED
PA RISH PR IE'ST’S VEIN Tt 11E SYDNEY, Aug. 16.—The Her. Father T. V. Dunlea parish priest at, Sutherland, has founded a “boys’ town” near Sutherland, . with the object of helping boys in need of care and guidance. ITe said that liis scheme had been, inspired by the film “Boys’ Town.” Already six hoys are in residence in a cottage, and they have elected as their mayor a boy whose name is Mickey Rooney—the same as that of one of the leading players in the film. A superintendent and matron are in charge. “This will be the second venture of its kind, in the world,” said Father Dunlea. “the other being in Nebraska, U.S.A. in my parish we have a big unemployed camp at Eugudine, with up to 40 families, and I have seen vividly how necessary it is foi the establishment 1 - of such a town for boys.
