MOTOR CYCLIST INTOXICATED BELLICOSE ATTITUDE LICENSE CANCELLED: FINED .CIO A charge dI being found in, a state t)l‘ intuxicat ion while in charge ot a inotor-evdo on September 12, was brought against Spencer David Cramp at. the Opotiki Police Court this morning, Messrs. G. S. Moody and Q. .Pipe, J’s.l’.. occupying the bench. The accused pleaded guilty. Sergeant Isbister. who conducted proceedings on behalf ot the police.stated that accused was seen by Inspector Alorell in King Street at 5.80 o’clock hist night. /Accused was wobbling fro n't sidle to side on bis motorcycle. Inspector Alorell followed him into At. Jclm Street and called upon him three times to stop. Accused retimed to heed the inspector until-lie was forced to the side of the road, when the inspector found that accused was intoxicated. Accused refused to go to the Police Station and adopted! a. lighting attitude, having to he arrested by Constable llathic. Accused admitted having eight or nine rums, later amending his statement by saving that lie may have, had 12. The bench convicted accused, imposing a line of CIO and costs, and cancelled his driver’s license, prohibiting him from obtaining another for 12 months.
