The match was played on Connelly’s paddock and! resulted in a. win for Opotiki. by six points to nil. Red Cross Funds. The basketball dance held in the Je ric Hall cm, Saturday night was in aid of lied Cross Funds. The- dance which is to he field in the Lyric Hall to-night will be in aid of lied Cross funds and has been organised by the Old Pupils’ Association. Horticultural Society. The annual meeting of the Opotiki Horticultural Society will be held in the Parish Hall to-morrow night. The Usual display evening will he held in 'injunction and no charge will be made for entry. An additional class .is been included Fur a bowl of da Toils. A Correction. Owing to a misunderstanding a line was inadvertently placed at the loot of the advertisement of the notice of annual meeting and monthly display evening of tin* .Horticultural Society. The line .should have appeared at iiie foot of the Tip Top Club’s advertisement. The proceeds of the club's dance will be given to the lied Cross Society. Basketball. The Gisborne .Marathon basketball team visited Opotiki on Saturday and played two matches at the H.S. grounds. •In a match against the Opotiki Old Girls’ team the visitors secured n win. .but another match aguinst the Kia Toa team resulted in a win for thy Opotiki team.
