ZERO HOUR APPROACHES

WESTERN FRONT GENERAL OFFENSIVE v ADVANCE ON SIEGFRIED LINE LONDON, Sept. 8, The Paris correspondent of the Associated Press of America states’ that Zero hour for a general offensive on the west, wall seems imminent. The British Expeditionary Force is joining the fresh French front lines. A French Army communique states: “We have been able t 0 effect local progress varying in importance and appreciably improving at certain points, the conditions of our advance.” Tho Paris press records successful new advances before the Siegfried' Line. 'The Journal states that the Germans ahead of the Sicgfriedl Line are in strong positions but tlic French troops are progressively overwhelming these positions, following fierce lighting. It is stated in London that the British authorities are making 'ho' annouiiieoiiieiit regarding the date of sailing or the extent of any British expeditionary force abroad.
