The Spirit of Life.
Laughter rang out in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court when a man who was charged with drunkenness put forward ai new reason for the consumption of alcohol. It wa.s stated by a constable that at the time of arrest the accused was pushing a handbarrow along the street. “It is my benzine,” said-the accused.' “1 have to have benzine to drive the engine, the same as a motor car!”
