WEDDING

BUSH—CAREY A pretty wedding was celebrated, at Holy Trinity Church, Pit-ton, when Gladys Eileen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'll. L. Carey, Opotiki, was married to Wallace Duncan, eldest son of Mrs. Hush and the late Mr. G, Hush, Pictim. The Rev. F. H. Buck was the officiating minister and Miss At. Philpotts was the organist. The chin ch had been decorated by friends of the bride , with flowering gr.m and Christmas rosejs. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a cream satin frock cut on simple lines, with cowl neckline and lung pulled sleeves, the 'skirt foiminga sweeping train. Her tulle veil was held in place by a. circlet" ot arum, lilies and orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet- <’f Christmas roses and spring bulbs. The hridsemaids. Miss Hazel Carey (chief), sister ot" the bride, Miss 7,01111 Bush, and Miss Jean" Rush, sisters of the bridegroom, wore frocks “of • lover pink net over taffeta, mad(i with heart shaped necklines and small puli’ .sleeves, and taffeta flowers appliqued on the skirts. They carried posies of violets and were sprays of violets in their hair. 'l’he small flower girl, Robin Gregg, of Ngaio, wore pale green net over taffeta and carried a posy of violets. The best- man was Mr. John Oliver, I’k fern, and the groomsmen were .Messrs. James Carey. Auckland and J. Gulliver, Eangicra. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Foresters’ Hall, where ila guests were received by ill’s. G. Push and Mr. H. Carey, the bride’s mother being absent on account of illness. Mrs. Push wore a. violet torn d Iroek, with navy swagger coat and navy hat, and carried if posy of cyclamen c’olouredl flowers. ■The bridal table was decorated with IM-land poppies and St.-John’s wort, mid the ‘handsome three-tiered wedding cake was ornamented with arum lilies and wedding favours. A! large sheaf of telegrams was received.
