Lotus Lepke Uuehalter, branded asthe world’s most dangerous industrial racketeer, cannot be caught, though every big crime agency in America has been after him for the past lS months. Dewey,' has returned to New; York to increase the reward for Buchalter’s capture.to £o,000. “What makes the ease so pressing,” said Mr. Dewev, ‘‘is that two perfectly innocent citizens have been murdered because they were mistaken for people involved in Duehaltor’s gang, war.” Lepke, as Ruelmlter is known, anil. Jacob Shapiro were indicted two years ago. Shapiro is now .serving a term in prison. These two men were leaders in bakery, teamster, and garment workers’ rackets, in which levies were charged every manufacturer' for the privilege of doing business.
