MATCHES AT WOODLANDS SHIELD TO W AIXG Alt Alt A Ah enjoyable time was spent at tlio Woodlands school-grounds on Tliursdav. when tour basketball teams coinpeted for the shield presented by Mr. Jeifery, Waiotahi. and which was held at the Woodlands team. The holders weio eliminated in the first round, the shield 1 finally going to Waingarara. The results were as follows : Waiotahi heat Kutarere. Waingarara beat Woodlands. Waingarara. beat Waiotahi in the ■ final and secured possession of the shield, which was later presented to the team by Air. S. Maxwell, during afternoon tea. I hroe cheers were called for by Air. Maxwell to the winning team. •GAMES- AT OPOTIKI Games played at Opotiki on Saturday resulted: — r> Okl Girls 15 13 defeated Old Girls A 5. Kia 'd'oa 11 heat High School A. 10. Te Hu in 10 heat High School lx 9.
