MONTHLY MEETING The ’•■monthly meeting of the YV.C.T. 1., was well attended,/ the president, Mv. R. Sinclair, presiding. Airs. Gordon (secretary), recounted in her iniiiuie.s much interesting work done, including children’s work, refreshments for footballers, etc. The meeting took the form of a gift meeting of clothes jor Alaori Ai is si on work. Sister Kirkwood addressed the meeting, in her very convincing manner, she spoke of experiences of her own in seeking to help victims of alcoholism. She especially stressed the wisdom of putting Christian in the name of the. Union, and saidl that without God’s help they were powerless. She spoke on the wrong use of leisure, the need of diseipline and the problems of the Alaori race. Those present found the- address very thought-provoking. Aliss Kirkwood was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. Sister Morgan acted as accompanist. A dainty afternoon tea was served by Alesdames Briggs and Cornoy.
