FIVE PL AYERS SUSPENDED ‘■.lncidents” in the 'previous Saturday’s Rugby matches in Wairoa. resulted in. five players, three senior and two thirds, being dealt with at a meeting of the. Wairoa County Rugby Sui>-Union on Tuesday evening. Having been ordered off the field in the Athletic v. Nuhaka senior fixture. one Athletic and two Nuhaka piayers were suspended for one playing Saturday and two players who wore ordered off in the third grade game between Athletic and High School were also suspended lor one playing Saturday. Reporting on the Nuhaka v. Athletic senior fixture the leleree, Air. A. El. Kiilis. slated Hint the game was a willing one and he had to order from the field two players for fighting and another for punching. 'l'lie treasurer to the sub-union, Air. 1:1. S. Nightingale, saidl that it was 1 a very tough game. Air. J. Al ("Gregor mentioned that one player had been selected lor the junior representative fixture against Poverty Bay on Saturday. Air.i O’Malley.: He will not lie able to play in that case. The selector, Air. C. Hill, poinfed out that another player was in the Wairoa team selected to meet .Poverty Bay for the Barry Cup. He would he unavailable for that game also and that made a total of three men who would have to be replaced in the senior represenlative team. ‘‘lt cannot be .helped.” replied Air. O’Alalley. “We cannot differentiate between Die players.” Reporting on the High School v. Athletic third grade match, the ref3iee, Mr. R. E. Bunny, stated: that- it was a good game spoilt- at times by oyer-willingness. The two players ordered off were having a stand-up fight , n the middle of the field.
