v Sir, —Much correspondence appears in the “News,” from various people airing their views, and myself being. Ai quiet unassuming chap, who’d never have thought fame would drop into my lap. ’I lie credit I’ve had for writing some letters, which Pin sure have been written by some of my betters,'* has gone to my head which has always been hot. so I’ll air my own views though Pm like to-be shot. The trounip l think is over the day on which the Point to Point is, most likelv to nay. Now Doing one of the most fortunate few, for whom any Saturday of the month will do. it behoves me unselfishly to Imry my pride and range myself on General Public’s side, for Going so my reason J. give, that is let the other live. Those people in shop’s can’t kick over the traces, so please let them have their day at tile races. Al v patron G.P. has aired- other views by the million, of which Pm not not qualified to give an opinion, however another in the name ol “Valpet u.” has soon fit to severely chastise the spalpeen. This punishment has been so very severe that I think General Public will n<> more interfere. This letter’s been written in terms I think fitting, as I’m not one of these on the fence who are sitting, so I’ll pass along all the honour and credit, ic. the one coming along and accepting the debit. With this effort of mine I’ve no desire to confuse, so appended hereunder is the namo of the muse, lor the privileges of airing all my troubles and views I wish most sincerely to chunk .‘The Opotiki News”.
