monthly meeting The .montlily meetino of tire Opotiki AV.D.F.U. was held in the Parish Hall recently, .Mrs. Neal presiding in the absence of the president, Airs. .Martin. I'roin whom an apology was received. The meeting was opened -with the reading nl' the Creed and Airs. Neal extended a hearty welcome to the visitors who were prescmt. The minutes of the previous meeti,,nr were read and confirmed and ordinary business was dealt with. Airs. Dodgson presented her delegate's report, which was much appreciated. AlrS. 11 ol !ard, who had also heim one of the delegates, niesented an additional report. The Hull Call. ‘•Useful Hints”, which was well answered, brought fm-t.}; some very useful as well as amiising hints. Mrs. Fox then handed round sumo crinke crepe paper from which hows were to hi* made. A daisy work, demonstration was given by Airs. HoMard, who had also brought along a cushion she had worked, to show mem hers how the finished article appeared. Airs. .Joblin. who had worked the division cloth, received special thanks for her effort. The spread had been exceptionally well done and looked' very nice. A very dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Airs. Dain and .Mrs. Joblin. Thanks to the hostesses and the singing of the National Anthem dosed a most delightful afternoon. •Competition winners were:— Best (!ingenuity : Airs. Hodgson 1, Airs. Maxwell 2. Mrs. Lowe 3.
