A number of High School pupils, bt the charge of their teachers. visited the Opotiki Courthouse yesterday morning. and were interested observers oi Court procedure. Unfortiinaioly, from the point of view of the children, the calendar was a very light one. being mainly confined to traffic offences.
Flying Instruction. It is uii(torsinull that there is every prospect of flying instructio-u being given from the Opotiki aerotirome in the near future. At a meeting o*f the Opotiki and Waioeka Domain Hoard it was decided to make no ground charge tor planes lioing used for instructing pupils in Hying, in Opotiki district. .Pupils from the Wlmkatano district will also have the same facilities extended to them. Borough Rates. The question of considering the borough rates was deferred at the monthly .meeting and a special meeting was arranged for last week. As some of the councillors were absent it was decided to bold another meeting last night, when only four councillors put in an appearance. It was decided to tin to arrange a meeting for tonight. as it was considered a full attendance was essential to discuss such an importaht matter. Primary school Football. A match between teams representing tin* Opotiki and Whakatnne Districts’ Primary Schools, will he played on the Reserve, Opotiki, on Saturday next, commencing' at 1.30 p.m. On the following Saturday the. Opotiki primary schools’ representatives will journey to Rotorua, where they will compete in the annual school tournament. The Opotiki team has been selected as follows:—P. Alooic (Omnramutu). C.
